Lingaraaj Temple is a temple of the Hindu god Shiva and is one of the oldest temples of the Temple City Bhubaneswar, a revered pilgrimage center and the capital of the state of Orissa.

Mukteswara Temple is situated at Bhubaneswar in the Orissa state of India. It was constructed around the 10th century. Compared to the more well-known temples in Orissa, this is a small one with a height of only 35 feet.

Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple or Meenakshi Amman Temple Tamil: மீனாட்சி அம்மன் கோவில் is a historic Hindu temple located in the holy city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva (in the form of Sundareswarar or Beautiful Lord) and his consort, Goddess Parvati (in the form of Meenakshi). The temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city of Madurai. The complex houses 14 magnificent Gopurams or towers including two golden Gopurams for the main deities, that are elaborately sculptured and painted.

Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga  is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located at Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the State of Jharkhand . It is also known as Baba dham and Baidyanath dham. According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site of the temple to get the boons that he later used to wreak havoc in the world. Ravana offered his 10 heads one after the another to Shiva in a sacrifice. Pleased with this Shiva descended to earth and cured Ravana who was injured. As he acted as a doctor, he is referred to as vaidhya ("doctor").

History

Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is in the holy city of Varanasi, India. The temple stands on the western bank of Hinduism's holiest river Ganges, and the deity is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas the holiest of Shiva deities. The main deity is known by the name Vishwanatha or Vishweshwara meaning the Ruler of the universe.
