Mahabodhi
Temple
Location: Bodh Gaya, Bihar
Dedicated To: Gautama Buddha
The Mahabodhi Temple with the diamond throne (called the Vajrasana)
and the holy Bodhi tree are located in Bihar. The Bodhi tree was
originally a sapling of the Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Sri Lanka, itself
grown from a sapling of the original Bodhi tree.
It is believed that 250 years after the Enlightenment of the Buddha,
Emperor Asoka visited Bodh Gaya. He is considered to be the founder
of the original Mahabodhi temple. The temple was later restored
by Sir Alexander Cunningham as part of his work for the British
Archaeological Society in the late 19th century. In 1883, Cunningham
along with J. D. Beglar and Dr Rajendralal Miitra painstakingly
excavated the site. Extensive renovation work was carried out to
restore Bodh Gaya to its former glory
Mehandipur Balaji Temple

Our
Lady of Vailankani
Location: Vailankanni, Tamil Nadu
Dedicated To: Our lady of Good Health, popularly called "Our
Lady of Vailankanni"
Vailankanni church (Our Lady of Good Health) was built in the late
16th century CE with modifications by Portuguese and further expansions
later on due to influx of pilgrimages.
The Gothic style of architecture is a unique feature of the church.
The church itself is an imposing building with inspiring architecture.
While the buildings have been painted white, roof of the church
is made by the tiles with striking red in contrast to the colour
of the walls. The environment around the shrine is spick and span
radiating rays of hope and piety.
As a token of gratitude to Mother Mary, Portuguese sailors who
escaped from a severe cyclone, built the chapel 24 feet to 12 feet
with a dome overhead. In their possible subsequent visits, perhaps
they brought porcelain plates, which could be seen even now illustrating
bible scenes and other cultural arts of the time, to beautify the
Church they had built earlier. The main statue that they had brought
to the altar of the Shrine was Our Lady holding the Baby Jesus,
standing majestically on the globe.

Shani Dham- Chattarpur
Location: Chattarpur, New Delhi
Dedicated To: Lord Shani Dev
Shani is one of the nine Navagraha or primary celestial beings in
Hindu astrology, embodied in the planet Saturn. Shani Dev is the
Lord of Saturday; the word Shani also denotes the seventh day or
Saturday in most Indian languages. According to Hindu mythology
Shani is actually a demi-god and is the son of Surya, the Sun God.
It is the general belief that when Shani Dev enters one’s
horoscope, bad luck will fall upon that person and will be surrounded
with problems. To avoid this and to please Shani-Dev people offer
prayers in the shani temples, especially on Saturdays, which are
dedicated to Shani Bagwaan. Black is the color associated with Shani
Dev, so devotees wear black clothes, donate black pulses and perform
a series of rituals to keep the short-tempered God happy.
Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple
Location: Dadar, Mumbai
Dedicated To: Lord Ganesha
The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated
to Lord Ganesha. It is located in Dadar, Mumbai. It was originally
built by Mr. Laxman Vithu and Mrs. Deubai Patil in November 19th,
1801.
The temple has the shrine of Siddhi Vinayak ("Ganesha that
grants your wish"). The wooden doors to the sanctum are carved
with images of the Ashtavinayak (the eight manifestations of Ganesha
in Maharashtra). The inner roof of the sanctum is plated with gold,
and the central statue is of Lord Ganesha. In the periphery of the
temple, there is a Lord Hanuman temple as well.

The Venkateshwara Temple at Tirupati is one of the most popularly
visited Hindu temples in India. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as
'Venkateshwara' and attracts followers from a wide range of Hindu
traditions. Within Vaishnava tradition the temple is considered
as one of the 108 most sacred temples throughout India, collectively
known as 'Tirupathis'. The temple is located in the hill town of
Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, India about 100 miles from Chennai.
